I have been spending a lot of months searching for a good music appreciation class for my son, Samuel. I have approached many music schools but with much disappointment:(

However, I was so happy when I stumbled upon ‘MUSIC with MUMMY’ music appreciation programme! It has a music programme for 0 month onwards! I took the courage (Samuel was about 6 months in my womb) to fly to UK and look for the beautiful couple, who are the founder of ‘Music With Mummy’, David and Diane for training. What is ‘MUSIC with MUMMY?’

MUSIC with MUMMY is established in 1992 and it provides a system of education about music and education through music for the pre-school child. It is run by carefully selected agents, who are trained to use the material that has been specially prepared for their very young pupils.

The music is drawn from a mix of old favourites (nursery rhymes, folk songs etc) and original songs specifically aimed at the youngest child.

The full programme is made up of three streams:-

Age 0 – 1 Jolly Babies
Age 1 – 3 Music with Mummy
Age 3 – 4 Three Four Time

MUSIC with MUMMY, the successful music education programme for children of three and under, is looking for agents to run groups in many parts of Singapore and would like to hear from you if you have had any experience as a teacher, nanny or parent.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal music qualifications are not a necessity, but you must be able to sing in tune and want to run a worthwhile and profitable venture, while having fun.

How Do I Start?

• The first step to becoming a “Music With Mummy” agent in Singapore is to attend and successfully complete the interview, training, and questionnaire. The training should last no more than half a day.
• The next step is to find yourself a venue for your classes. These can be run in your own home, a studio, hall, childcare centres or enrichment centres – it’s entirely up to you.
  Polene, our experienced Singapore “Music With Mummy” Agent Co-ordinator will be providing advice about the feasibility of the venues that you have chosen, class size, times and charges to you.
• You will be taking on as a “Music With Mummy” agent for which there is initial training fee plus a monthly licence fee which gives permission to use the copyrighted CDs and lesson plans for the classes.
• The mandatory introductory training course costs only S$250 (which includes a fee for addition of your details to all our advertising media, such as Straits Times, Mumcentre on-line advertising, Young Parents Magazine, etc.)
• The monthly license fee costs S$60, for the first 6 months and S$120 for the next 6 months. For this monthly charge, you can run, as many classes as you wish, with as many children attending the classes as you would like.
